![]() Ironic he does not know how to celebrate victory. ![]() In victory, he knows how to be gracious to his opponents. In many cases, he would send hopeful messages to candidates who were facing hard times or defeat. What remains surprising is how Nixon was able to show great moral courage at certain points for instance, when he was losing the elections to JFK, he could have asked Eisenhower to help but he refused to because he didn't want Eisenhower to suffer anymore- he had a health challenge at this point. Yet, this did not give Nixon the moral character to make the right calls in his career. He and Henry Kissinger had the mental courage to dream of a different world. He knew too much and, perhaps, too little. ![]() There is no question about the genius of Richard Nixon or his understanding of history, human nature, and power. When he was about to quit, his wife, Pat, often encouraged him to stay on and fight. He got married to a woman who believed in his greatness. ![]() Richard Nixon was a man who believed he was destined for greatness. Even with his tainted legacy, his record is impressive. Nixon could easily have become one of the greatest American presidents. ![]()
